NEC offers an enterprise-scale thin-client PC solution called the NEC VPCC (Virtual PC Center). The presentation server thin client approach is combined with a full Windows PC environment in the data center.
The management of the thin client PC environments is accomplished through the NEC SSC (Sigma System Center) management software. Virtualising PC sessions, handling application and operating system updates, backups, are more are easily accomplished through the SSC.
The system can also support IP telephony and unified communications. All data resides on the NEC VPPC servers, with storage area network (SAN) support available.
The NEC US110 Thin Client PC has the ability to give a full speed multi-media Windows PC user experience, including applications. Its capabilities include:
• Multi-media decoding for both video and sound content.
• Simultaneous remote user session management.
• Easy setup and usage environments.
The NEC TCM160 mobile notebook terminal is equipped with Windows XP embedded with access to the server via a mobile card and wireless LAN service and supports a VPN (Virtual Private Network) environment.
NEC UK is the European competence centre for VPCC with IP telephony and Microsoft Office Communication Server.
