Bedfordshire County Council |

The challenge Bedfordshire County Council (BCC) required a highly available solution based on Storage Area Network (SAN) technology to meet data growth demands that would also improve reliability, scalability and manageability of their central servers. This involved the consolidation of Novell NetWare file servers into a fully clustered environment, and an upgrade to Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange. The solution Working in partnership with the Council, NEC designed and implemented a new Novell NetWare implementation, and an Exchange infrastructure that used two pairs of clustered Windows 2000 Advanced Servers, with each pair running half the Exchange workload. Active Directory was then integrated with Novell eDirectory in order to provide end-to-end management for the whole solution. Why NEC ? NEC was chosen to partner with Bedfordshire County Council because we were able to meet the council’s primary goals and ambitions for the project. NEC was able to develop and deploy best-of-class solutions to meet the council’s needs. Importantly, these projects were delivered on time and within budget. <NEXT> |
